PARIS PLANNING GUIDE
Paris attractions to plan before you arrive
Choose one reservation that gives the day its shape, then explore the surrounding district. The Eiffel Tower, a major museum, a Seine cruise and Versailles each need a different amount of time and travel.

START WITH THE EXPERIENCE
Start with the experience, not the landmark count
A monument, museum, cruise and estate day use time differently. Pick the priority first, then build the day on the same bank or rail route.
Eiffel Tower
Choose the level, lift or stair access and timed entry that match the visit.
Louvre
Select a few departments and a realistic route through a very large museum.
Musée d’Orsay
Choose this for its collection and Left Bank location, not as a smaller substitute for the Louvre.
Seine cruise
Map the named quay and check whether the product is sightseeing, transport or dining.
Versailles
Treat the palace and estate as a day trip with transport, security and a reserved Palace time.
Flexible Paris
Gardens, streets and neighborhoods can fill the time around one fixed reservation.

Compare reservation shape before ticket type
The useful comparison is exact access, location, meeting point and the time the visit claims from the rest of the day.
| Experience | Area | Useful when | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eiffel Tower | 7th arrondissement | The tower itself is a priority | Chosen level, lift or stairs, timed access and security |
| Louvre | 1st arrondissement | You want a broad collection and can choose a focused route | Time-stamped entry, entrance guidance and gallery changes |
| Musée d’Orsay | 7th arrondissement | Nineteenth-century art is the priority | Entry type, current gallery access and correct entrance |
| Seine cruise | Several departure points | You want a river view of several monuments | Operator, exact quay, format, duration and return point |
| Palace of Versailles | Versailles | The estate is a main day, not a short city stop | Palace slot, estate inclusions, transport and a large buffer |
Pair the Eiffel Tower with the river carefully
Nearby wording does not guarantee the same quay.
Map the exact pier, confirm whether the boat is sightseeing, transport or dining, and leave room for Tower security. Check the selected Tower level instead of assuming every ticket reaches the summit.
If both are fixed-time products, protect the second booking with a realistic buffer.

Choose a museum by collection and route
The Louvre and Musée d’Orsay create different visits.
Check current gallery maps, temporary exhibition access and the closure day for your date. Put gardens, cafes and neighborhood time around the chosen museum.
Attempting both major museums in one rushed day often sacrifices the collection and the city outside.
Give Versailles a full-day decision
The Palace slot is only one part of the estate day.
Include travel from Paris, the walk from the station, security and movement between the Palace, gardens and Trianon estate.
A late central-Paris reservation can make the return unnecessarily brittle. Check exactly what any transport package includes.
Check combinations line by line
Hosted entry, a guided tour and an admission ticket are not the same.
For Tower plus cruise, museum passes or Versailles packages, verify every included visit, reservation requirement, guide language and meeting point.
Do not treat priority wording as a guarantee. Compare the actual access and amendment terms.
CHECK CURRENT OPTIONS

A booking checklist that protects the day
Confirm the details that affect entry, timing and the rest of the route.
- Confirm the exact venue, entrance, level or estate area included.
- Check whether the time applies to entry, a hosted meeting or boat departure.
- Map the departure point before buying a Seine product.
- Leave time for security and for travel to Versailles.
- Read amendment, late-arrival and cancellation rules for each timed product.
- Keep the booking and any required ID available offline.
PLAN YOUR STAY
Pick a Paris base before you add more bookings
A useful Métro line can matter more than staying beside one landmark. Compare the neighbourhood, nearest station, room details and total price for your exact dates.

Keep the rest of the trip connected
Match sightseeing geography to the Paris stay guide. Use the Paris airport guide for arrival, and the London to Paris rail guide if the trip starts in the United Kingdom. For the two larger decisions, see the Versailles day-trip guide and the Seine river-cruise guide.
