The nightly rate is not the whole stay.

Use one consistent total when comparing rooms, then ask whether the location and booking conditions are worth that total for your trip.

Put every option on the same basis

Two properties can be displayed in different currencies, with different tax presentations and different rules about what you pay later. Start by entering the same dates, number of guests and room requirements for each search. Compare the final cost for the full stay, not the first price on a results page.

The working formula

Room cost for all nights + taxes and mandatory charges + travel to and from the property + required extras = your practical stay cost.

Keep refundable deposits and card holds separate from the final cost, but note the cash or credit you need available during the trip.

1. Room price for your exact stay

Confirm the check-in and check-out dates, guest count, room type and whether the rate is for one room or more. A different bed configuration, breakfast option or cancellation policy can create a different price even at the same property.

3. Payment currency and timing

Look for the currency in which you will actually be charged and whether payment is due now or on arrival. If a card or bank converts the currency, its exchange rate and any fee can change what the stay costs you. RentSivo does not calculate exchange rates.

4. Transport and required extras

Use your daily route, not just the map distance. Add airport transfer, transit to key sights or a necessary taxi when comparing an outlying bargain with a more convenient property. Include any must-have add-on that is not part of the selected room offer.

Do not let a flexible offer and a strict offer blur together

A non-refundable rate may be cheaper, but it is a different product from one you can cancel. Put the cancellation deadline, no-show conditions, payment timing and guest rules next to the price you record. If your plans might change, compare options with similar flexibility before deciding that one property is cheaper.

A five-minute comparison routine

  1. Search the same dates, guests and essential room features.
  2. Open each offer's full price and tax breakdown.
  3. Record what you pay now, later and in which currency.
  4. Check the daily route and estimate essential transport.
  5. Read cancellation and check-in terms before clicking the final confirmation.

For New York stays, the city's tourist consumer guide discusses hotel fees. For Tokyo, the official tourism guide notes an accommodation tax may apply to qualifying room charges. These examples show why a single headline rate is not enough; they are not a tax calculator.

Start with a destination guide to choose the right area, then use this routine on the provider's current booking pages. RentSivo does not take payments, display live prices or make reservations.
